Under Eye Light Filling
During the light filling process, hyaluronic acid is slowly applied over the skin. Local anesthesia is applied to the person before the filling process. Thus, no pain or aches is felt during the application. The gel material used for local anesthesia also has antiseptic features.
During the filling process, the filling material to be used is opened in front of the patient. Thus, it will be observed by the patient that the sterile procedure is performed in a sterile environment.
With the help of a special injector, hyaluronic acid is transferred to the area just below the eyelid during the under-eye light filling procedure. This injector has a unique, non-pointed structure. Thus, there is no risk of bruising or edema in the under-eye area after application. Volume losses under the eye are avoided thanks to the special cannulas used during the procedure.
Hyaluronic substance is a substance with acidic properties and melts over time. In case of any problem, it can be dissolved with Hyaluronidase substance. Hyaluronic substance selection is made in a manner that is suitable for under-eye. Fine Hyaluronic fillers are the most preferred fillers with no side effects.
In some people, there may be a difference in the areas under the right and left eyelids. During the filling process, the doctor uses different amounts of filler in the right and left under-eye areas, taking these differences into consideration. After the filling is completed, the small amount of filling material remaining in the injector is used for retouching operations.
The filling process is completed in approximately 15-20 minutes. During the process, the filling effect manifests itself immediately. There is a significant illumination in the dark circles under the eyes. However, the effects of the procedure will show themselves better over time. Mild redness around the eyes may occur immediately after the procedure. However, these redness disappear completely in 4-5 hours. The positive results of the procedure continue for approximately 1-1.5 years.
Light filling works very well in these patients, especially if there is no significant fat bagging. Hyaluronic acid fillers or fat transfers injected into the cavity aim to make the eyelid-cheek transition flatter. Since light is reflected back brighter from a flatter surface, fillers usually made under the eye are known as‘ light fillers’. Light filling is a very reliable and effective method in the hands of someone who has a thorough knowledge of the eye area; however, when the area is not well known, and especially when a superficial application is used, there may be permanent swelling and bluish color reflection for the rest of one’s life.
Light filler should not be used in patients with very severe allergic bodies (asthma attack, severe hay fever) and in patients with lymphatic drainage disorder in the lower eyelid. In addition, if the fat bags are prominent in the lower eyelid, if the eyelid is loose, if there is a significant loss of elasticity in the skin, the application of filler is not appropriate, and even the problem may become more prominent with the application. With this detail, it is necessary to apply for cheek filling, under-eye bag mesotherapies and laser treatments.
