Jaw - Jawline Fill
First of all, anesthetic cream is applied to the patient’s lip and it is kept for 15-20 minutes. If the patient has a low pain threshold or a trauma; we can also do this procedure by giving anesthesia injection from four points through the mouth. However, we generally do not need to do this.
Then, the patients slightly opens their lips and the procedure is started to remain in this position. One of the best things about filling is that you can see how the shape changes and how the volume changes where it is injected. However, there are some minor maneuvers.
Depending on the shape of the lip we want to do, we sometimes start to enter from the edges and sometimes from the middle. Because, as you know, there are many types of lips. There are French lips, Hollywood lips, Brazilian lips. “Are we going to make our Eros line clearer?”, “Are we going to make your contour more prominent?”, “Should our lines look more spaced?”. In fact, we simplify it as lip filling, but we there are many details we pay attention to when designing the lip.
As with other processes, if you use the most accurate technique, the most accurate product, and if you inject at the most accurate point, you would be paying attention to undesirable situations and design the most perfect lip possible.
After injecting the filling, I check to see if it’s settled in the right place. The materials we injected may not spread to some lips immediately. It can look cluster-shaped, tougher. The trick is to touch the patient. Do we feel hardness when we touch it? The easiest way to figure that out is to touch.
After performing the injection, it is necessary to look at the patient from the front. It’s also important to get the patients talking, kissing, and laughing. Thus, I test whether the placement of the filling is correct or not.
After the procedure, sometimes when we lift the patient, the reactions are as follows; “Does this area look empty? or Does this area look emptier?” In these matters, trust us. In these injections, sometimes the body makes some differences, such as one area swells more, one area swells less or does not swell at all. Or, the first place could be more swollen. Therefore, I always say, “After 10 days, when your lip settles, come back for a check-up”.
The Next Morning You’ll See The Most Swollen Form
In some patients, even during the procedure, there may be an appearance as if it is twice the amount of filler we put in. In fact, we warn our patients, “When you wake up the next morning, you will encounter the most swollen form, please, don’t remember me badly”. Because the characteristic of filling is it holds the water. As you know, there is a risk of edema when an injection is given somewhere in your body. If we stick the needle in its empty state, not the filling material, there’s a chance it’ll swell. Besides, the filler also has a water retention feature.
When we eat salty, drink alcohol or consume little water, urinate little, we already wake up with edema in the morning. As a result of these effects, and also due to the water retention effect of the filling, your lips will be swollen in the morning.
- Applying ice at night and in the morning,
- By not kissing for 3 days
- By not consuming alcohol and salty foods
- By cutting off the hot contact of your lips
- By not consuming hot tea, coffee
You can prevent edema and make the existing edema go away early. Also; you should definitely apply ice before going to bed at night and when you wake up in the morning. In the morning, you will see that the edema starts to go down after freezing. However, you should still pay attention to hot consumption, especially for 1-2 days, and still not kiss for 3 days. It is also recommended to stay away from the Turkish bath and sauna for 10 days. It has nothing to do with the sun or the heat, it’s all about taking good care of that area.
You woke up in the morning, you had a swelling, you applied ice… That swelling starts to go down and continues to go down in the afternoon. The next day, you may still have a swelling in the morning, these are normal processes. However;
- If there is swelling in the morning and it starts to increase in the afternoon,
- If things start to happen such as redness, warmth, etc.
- If there is only warmth and redness without edema
All of these give rise to the possibility that you have developed any reaction to the filling. Which is highly unlikely. It is 70 times lower than the reaction that can occur in a drug. However, if you inform us in such a case, we can tell you again how you can prevent them with simple measures. We invite some patients back to the clinic to see them. However, believe me, I have treated thousands of patients in this time, and the patient count, whose body is resistant enough to refuse filling, did not exceed a total of 2. I mean, really low!
Asymmetrically keeping the lips parallel when you make the “be quiet” gesture, is one of the most important details in ensuring that the lips do not appear artificial and filled, but rather natural.
After the filling, it’s time for the massage! After massaging, the patient is examined again. Then, the patients can see themselves in the mirror. Here, we remind you that this is a swollen state. After 10 days, it will be a more natural image.
