Migraine Botox

Botox reduces sensitivity to pain by relaxing the muscles and blocking the nerve that transmits the pain message to the brain. Approximately 70percent of the patients who received migraine botox reported a decrease of more than 50 percent in the number of days with migraine compared to the pre-treatment period. Migraine botox is applied at a specific dose to 7 critical points in the head and neck over a period of 15- 30 minutes, it starts to work within a few days and has a preventive effect against migraine-related headaches for 12 weeks. Botox is a protective treatment against migraine-related headaches and is recommended to be repeated every 3 months. As with all other botox applications, it should not be applied to people who are allergic to botox content. It should not be used in people with neuromuscular disorders or bleeding problems, in people with skin diseases in the area where treatment is desired, in pregnant or breastfeeding women, especially those who are allergic to active substances such as albumin. Before botox application, drugs containing aspirin or aspirin should not be taken. Alcohol should not be consumed for one week before application. The repetition period is 4-6 months. The patient should not sleep for 6 hours and should sit in an upright position after the procedure. After the treatment, the patient should remain in an upright position for 1-2 hours and the injection site muscles should be operated on. Heavy exercise movements should be avoided for 24 hours. It is recommended to avoid shower, sauna, swimming and exercising with hot water for a day.
